Assistive technologies for engaging with music in dementia

Whether it be listening to favourite songs, playing an instrument, songwriting or singing, engagement with music can offer many benefits like connecting people with past memories, building relationships and enhancing the overall quality of their lives. Research at the University of Sheffield has linked music, psychology and engineering to show how new technologies can help more people interact with music.

This fascinating film explores how new musical interfaces can be created specifically for people living with dementia.
