Understanding health to tackle disease
Part of BioFest, Documentaries
1 Nov 2023 09:00
To fix disease, first we need to fully understand human health. How do the organs of the body grow, develop and then age? Why do they sometimes malfunction or develop differently? How are complex processes such as vision and hearing manifested at the molecular level?
This short film explores how our research at the School of Biosciences is developing and employing a range of state-of-the-art techniques to research how human bodies are made and how they function in health. In doing so we’re pushing the boundaries of our knowledge, and developing creative new solutions such as stem cell therapy to improve human health and outcomes.
