Tracking Our Health
10 Nov 2020 19:00
In this online talk, sociologist Dr Kate Weiner and colleagues showcased The House of Tracking, an interactive website that presents the key findings of their research into everyday practices of self-monitoring health.
Technologies for people to monitor their health have become increasingly popular and there are hopes that self-monitoring might improve people’s management of their own health and save healthcare costs. But there are still many questions about how and why people buy their own monitors and engage in self-tracking, and the wider implications for the delivery of healthcare. The House of Tracking shows how self-monitoring takes place in different locations around the home and in different ways in people’s lives.
