Tarana Husain Khan interviews Princess Nighat Abidi about the forgotten foods of Rampur, India
Princess Nighat Abidi is the daughter of His Highness Nawab Murtaza Ali Khan of Rampur. She has kept the tradition of Rampur’s royal cuisine alive. In this informal interview with Tarana Husain Khan, she talks about the rare and forgotten foods of Rampur that she saw being cooked in the kitchens of her father and grandfather. This interview is part of the documentary Dastarkhwan-e Rampur (A Feast in Rampur) tracing the cultural history of north India’s Rampur town through its food and culinary heritage.
