The Peak District Imaginarium

Explore reimagined images from an extraordinary archive of photographic slides

The Peak District Imaginarium was conceived and created by artists Paul Evans and Jon Harrrison, working in collaboration with researchers from the University of Sheffield: Bob Johnston, Megan Blomfield and Gui Pozzer, and the Peak District National Park.

The project features images from an extraordinary archive of photographic slides, recently rediscovered at the headquarters of the Peak National Park in Bakewell, Derbyshire. The artists have used AI to reimagine a selection of these slides in response to prompts from the general public.

The Peak District Imaginarium was created for Being Human Festival 2024
