'Gig Economy' Care Platform Models: Impacts for the Workforce and the Market

Dr Karla Zimpel-Leal welcomes Dr Fiona Macdonald to talk about her research on care platform models, or uberisation, and her publication in the International Journal of Care and Caring titled 'Personalised risk’ in paid care work and the impacts of ‘gig economy’ care platforms. Both draw on their research in the UK and in Australia to highlight careworkers' experiences of working within these models, and the impact of these models on the care market.
