Breathing Space
Part of Festival of the Mind
26 Sep 2020 10:00
The team behind the Breathing Space exhibition talk about the consequences and health impacts of air pollution, and what we can do as individuals and as a society to improve the air quality in our cities.
About the project
Through Breathing Space, artist Gina Allen highlighted the personal stories of people affected by air pollution to help us visualise a huge problem we just can’t see.
Gina and her academic collaborator Dr Lee Crookes (Urban Studies and Planning) hoped that hearing first hand about the terrible consequences of air pollution – caused by cars, haulage and air travel – would encourage us to rethink some of our own personal choices.
